Fifty people donate blood at La Portada Hospital

More than fifty people donated blood through the campaign that took place this Friday at La Portada Hospital, located in the area of ​​the same name. This altruistic activity seeks to save lives.

According to data from the hospital, of the 82 people who came through the campaign to donate blood, 53 achieved their goal and the same number of blood packages were collected, but the other 29 could not do so because they were underweight or had high or low red blood cells.

According to WHO data, a blood donor must be between 18 and 60 years old, not have had hepatitis B or C, HIV, weigh more than 50 kilos and be completely healthy.

Neighbors, hospital staff and students attended this call. “More than 60% of the donors were young people,” indicates a hospital report.

The blood donation campaign called “Cheer up! Donating blood is saving lives” was held this Friday, November 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The activity seeks an altruistic action by the population since with one package of blood four lives can be saved.
