“Fifty/Fifty: The Gender Equality Tool for Floorball Goes Global”

The Fifty/Fifty education program was launched in 2019 in Sweden as a tool to promote gender equality in sports. Initially developed by the Värmland’s Floorball Association and RF SISU Värmland, it has now been made available globally through an exciting partnership with the International Floorball Federation. The online program consists of six digital lessons, which combine inspiration, facts, discussion, and reflection, all with the aim of increasing knowledge and achieving greater gender equality in floorball. The success of the program has seen over 200 associations in Sweden take part, with the opportunity now available for the rest of the world to benefit from this free and easily accessible tool. The IFF is a strong supporter of the Fifty/Fifty project as part of its wider FairFloorball campaign, which aims to address the issue of gender inequality in the sport. To emphasize this important topic, the Swedish Floorball Association has produced films featuring children discussing jargon associated with floorball, with the added participation of Swedish national team player, Moa Gustafsson.
