Fifth woman accuses singer Arcade Fire of sexual misconduct | #me too

Arcade Fire lead singer Win Butler has again been accused of sexual misconduct. A fifth woman shares her experiences with a music site Pitchforkafter the platform previously wrote about four alleged victims of the singer.

The woman with whom he wrote his story under the pseudonym Sabina Pitchfork shares, said he had been in a sexual relationship with the now 42-year-old singer for three years.

She was 22 when she met then 35-year-old Butler in 2015. Sabina had a boyfriend at the time, but Butler didn’t care. “Like, she asked me if I’d broken up with him before.”

The two had an affair and the woman decided to end the relationship. However, she didn’t feel good about her relationship with Butler, which she calls “toxic and unhealthy.” She talks about “aggressive sex and unequal power relations”.

“It felt like I had to do whatever he said. I didn’t feel very comfortable with it, but I did it anyway. The only value I had to him was doing sexual favors when he wanted to.”

Pitchfork published an article in late August in which four people share their bad experiences with Butler. The singer is said to have imposed on four much younger women.

Among other things, he allegedly asked for nude photos and sent unsolicited sexually suggestive messages. The alleged victims were all between the ages of 18 and 23 when the crashes occurred.

Canadian singer Feist has therefore decided to abandon the tour she was doing with Arcade Fire. She was therefore not present at the show that the band gave in the Netherlands.
