Hundreds of people gathered in the center of Rotterdam on Friday evening to protest against the 2G policy. During the riots that broke out, the police fired shots. The Rotterdam police said afterwards that officers felt so cornered that they had to shoot.
Earlier it was announced that four people may have been hit by bullets at a demonstration in Rotterdam where disturbances broke out. The police tweet that someone came in tonight with a gunshot wound. It is being investigated whether the bullets that hit this person and the other people came from a police weapon.

During the demonstration against announced corona measures, heavy fireworks and stones were thrown at aid workers, among other things. Police fired shots at some of the rioters as the protest spiraled out of control. Several people were injured, including officers. 49 people were arrested on the night itself.
