The event, held at the picturesque Hulu Lane Theme Park in Qingdao High-tech Zone, saw the participation of over 200 teams, 200 players, and more than 30,000 citizens and tourists from various government agencies, enterprises, institutions, social organizations, and universities in Qingdao.

The dragon boat race began with great enthusiasm, captivating the audience with its vibrant atmosphere. At 8:30 am, the competition officially started, with guests and audience representatives adding their final touches to the dragon boats, symbolizing a smooth and successful race. The opening performance further ignited the excitement among the spectators.

At 9 o’clock in the morning, the loud starting gun signaled the official start of the dragon boat race. Eleven teams raced towards the finish line, accompanied by cheers from the shore. The sight of splashing waves, flying dragon flags, and the rhythmic sound of gongs and drums created an electrifying atmosphere.

The organizing committee revealed that this year’s dragon boat race featured straight races, parades around the mark, and water tug-of-war competitions. After intense competition, the flame blue team emerged as the champions, followed by the second-place team. The convenience team, Gaotou Heli team, and Dongtang film and television team secured the third position. Gaoshi Bisheng Team and Dongtang Film and Television Team triumphed in the dragon boat tug-of-war competition. Additionally, the basic engineering team of China Railway Construction Engineering, the high-tech management committee team, the TPV technology team, the Xiangmao Riverside team, and the China Science and Technology Information Association team won the moral fashion fleet.

The Dragon Boat Cultural Festival, which began on June 17th and will conclude on July 3rd, has upgraded the dragon boat race to a grand cultural event. It aims to promote Chinese traditional culture and showcase the image of Qingdao High-tech Zone. The festival includes various activities such as a carnival amusement park, food fair, intangible cultural heritage folklore exhibition, Han Fu elegant charm, folk custom games, national poetry interpretation, and a hand-painted Dragon Boat Festival 100-meter long scroll. Visitors can experience dragon boat rides, try on Hanfu costumes, participate in pot throwing games, and receive colorful ropes and sachets through an NPC “check-in” activity.
