Fifth place for Jonas in Italy in MXGP stage qualification

“Standing Construct Honda” rider Jonas finished the first lap in sixth place, overtook the Dutchman Calvin Flanderen in the next lap and rode to the finish in fifth place.

Šileika finished the first lap in 24th place, overtook the Czech Jakub Tereshak in the second, moved up one more place in the next lap because the Frenchman Romain Fevres (“Kawasaki”) retired. In the sixth lap, the Latvian missed Tereshak, and in the next, also the Slovenian Jan Pancara. On the ninth lap, he managed to overtake the Frenchman Benoit Patirell, and Šileika also finished in this position, giving up on the leaders by a lap.

The fastest in qualifying was the Spaniard Jorge Prado (“GasGas”), who beat the Slovenian Tim Gajser (“Honda”) by 6.628 seconds and the Dutchman Geoffrey Herlings (KTM) by 19.102 seconds.

The races of the Sardinian “Grand Prix” will take place on Sunday.

After the first two stages, Prado is the leader in the overall standings of the world championship with 114 points, Gajser is in second place with 104 points, and Fevres completes the top three with 92 points. Jonas is in fifth position with 73 points.

In the previous season, the Spanish Jorge Prado (“GasGas”) won the overall standings, leaving Fevre and the Swiss Jeremy Siever behind, but Jonas finished 19th with several injuries.
