Danielle Veira, head of the National Security Directorate (DNV), recently confirmed that a person in Suriname has been tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The number of infected people in the country is now five.
According to Veira, this person returned to Suriname on the flight from Miami last night. This case was discovered by the medical team that was screening passengers at Johan Adolf Pengell Airport.
During the daily press conference, Veira indicated that the condition of all five people is stable.
