Fifteen reports of threats against the women’s league in Malmö

During the women’s national team season this year, most of the threats have come against Rosengård – who at the same time are striving towards SM gold. It is partly a threat to a particular player and partly to the club as such.

– We have received 15 calls here in Malmö. The first one in May, and then we have seen an increase recently, says Malmö police spokesman Nils Norling.

– Most of these are aimed at a specific player, the rest are aimed at Rosengård.

At the same time, it is important not only about Rosengård and the Rosengård column. Threats were also directed at the entire women’s league, and clubs were also affected. Northern Scania reported on Vittsjö, They run about Linköping and sport blade about Djurgården.

Nils Norling goes on to talk about how the police are working to make progress in the cases.

– We will of course work together within the police throughout Sweden to look at this. It is important that in situations like this we look at things that may be similar, but also differences – and we try to make different connections between these issues.

He does not want to specify exactly how the threats were made, but says it is “about digital threats”.

DN has participated several threats posted on Youtube. In addition, Håkan Wifvesson, chairman of Rosengård, it was previously reported that the club had received threats via email.

Nils Norling also says that the police have made progress in the investigation regarding IP addresses, something like SVT the first to report.

– We are in a position where we have been very successful in our work by obtaining IP addresses. But with that said, there is a long way to go, he says.

– We certainly hope that we will be able to speak to the person or people behind the threats. But we are not there yet.
