According to an unnamed source, Zelensky’s office has offered to feature the president of Ukraine, who has been battling a Russian-triggered war for nearly a decade, in a video for fans at a stadium in Qatar. Zelensky’s office was said to have been surprised by the negative response.

“We thought FIFA wanted to use his position for the greater good,” noted a CNN source. However, she added that talks between Ukrainian officials and FIFA on this matter continue. CNN has asked FIFA for comment, but has yet to respond.
