The official emblem and slogan of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by three North and Central American countries, has been unveiled.
On the 18th (hereinafter Korean time), FIFA unveiled the official emblem of the 2026 World Cup at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Officials and footballers from the co-hosting countries, the United States, Canada, and Mexico, gathered together to introduce the emblem with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Ronaldo, the ‘legend’ who led Brazil to win the World Cup twice.
The emblem has a trophy embedded on top of the white number 26, and FIFA explained that “’26’ meaning 2026 and an actual trophy image are included for the first time in World Cup history.”
Emblems with colors that express the individuality of the 16 host cities (11 in the US, 2 in Canada, and 3 in Mexico) will be additionally unveiled on the 19th.
FIFA also unveiled the slogan, ‘WE ARE 26’, which means the unique experience of people around the world through the World Cup, while also containing the meaning that everyone wants to enjoy the World Cup.
President Infantino said, “This is the moment when the three host countries and all continents say, ‘We are united for the biggest and most inclusive World Cup’.”
