The BFS has handed over to FIFA all the documents on the transfers of Botev (Pd) since the summer. The request came because of the investigation of the world headquarters against the owner of Botev – Anton Zingarevich. FIFA is investigating the transfers of young Nigerians to Krasnodar – Okoronkwo, Nduko and Olusegun, who only went through the “canaries” on a documentary basis.
In recent years, FIFA has seriously tightened control over the transfer of players under the age of 18. The reason was that the big European clubs were “stealing” 15-16-year-old talents from Africa and South America. There are currently only four exceptions where transfers of players under 18 to other countries are allowed. The first is when the footballer’s parents have moved to live in another country for non-football reasons. The second is that the player and the club are in two different countries, but the distance between his home and the base of the club is not more than 100 km. The other is that the footballer under the age of 18 has lived at least for the last 5 years in the respective country.
The fourth, which concerns Botev’s transfers, is when the footballer is over 16 years old and the new club provides him with an education outside of football and takes care of him in the best way, and evidence of this is given annually to the football association. The rules do not apply to transfers between clubs from the countries of the European Union.
Before the New Year, the media in Russia announced that FIFA could very harshly punish the owner of Botev Plovdiv for illegal transfers of underage African football players. Contracts, payment and any other documents related to transfers to and from Botev of young African footballers have been requested from our football headquarters, writes “Mach Telegraf”.
