As expected, the German national football team is threatened with a well-known opponent in the draw for the group phase of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this Friday (6:00 p.m. CEST) in Doha. FIFA published the new world rankings relevant for the seeding list as of March 31, 2022.

The DFB selection is seeded in pot two and could therefore already meet a top nation from pot one such as record world champions Brazil and defending champions France in the group stage. Host Qatar is also included in the first draw. Three World Cup participants have not yet been determined and will only be determined in June in the last playoff games.
