FIFA rejects Chile’s complaint and confirms Ecuador in the World Cup

FIFA’s Discipline Committee today decided to end the lawsuit filed against the Ecuadorian Federation of Football (FEF) for the lineup of the right side Byron Castllo in games of the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup.

Last month, the Football Federation of Chile sent a complaint to the committee against the player Byron David Castillo Segura and the Ecuadorian Football Federation, alleging that the athlete used a false birth certificate, false age declaration and false nationality.

Chile claimed that there was numerous evidence that the player was born in Colombia, not Ecuador. In addition, he points out that the FEF knew about the irregularity in the player’s documentation, but did not want to clarify the facts.

Ecuador finished the World Cup Qualifiers in 4th place, with 26 points, and will be in Qatar. Chile, in turn, was the 7th, with 19. The Chileans feel harmed by Castillo having played both games against them.

In the 6th round, the teams drew 0-0, and Byron entered the second half, and in the 14th, with the side among the holders, the Ecuadorians won 2-0.
