‘Blue card’ statement from FIFA President Infantino

Emphasizing that FIFA is completely against the “blue card”, Infantino said, “I was not aware of this issue. I am the president of FIFA and I think FIFA has a say in the IFAB. I don’t know if you want a title, a red card for a blue card.”
Noting that new suggestions in football should be approached with respect, Infantino said, “However, once you look at it, you have to protect the game, the essence and tradition of the game. There is no such thing as a blue card.”
It was claimed that IFAB planned to publish the report containing the blue card proposal on February 9, but gave up upon the reactions after the proposal was reflected in the press.
