The fate of several concerts to be held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK SU) Senayan, Central Jakarta hangs in the balance.
This was because the venue where the concert was held could not be used. This was announced by PSSI general secretary Yunus Nusi after receiving a reply letter from the World Football Federation (FIFA) which was received on Tuesday (29/11) by email sent by the manager of the FIFA men’s tournament, Christian Schmolzer .
In the letter it was written, whether FIFA, after consulting with the management of the camp, decided not to approve the given program, namely the holding of two concerts. Because it will interfere with the field preparation process.
“After consulting FIFA’s pitch management, we have to inform you that we cannot agree on the schedule presented. Holding two concerts with several days of setting up and tearing down the pitch activities will obviously seriously hamper us from implementing the pitch management schedule.” as expected,” he said. “Given the significant investment that the government has agreed to spend on providing high quality football pitches, it would be contradictory to allow this event to take place as close to the tournament as possible. We hereby kindly ask that you pass this input on to GBK Stadium Management. “
In response to this, Yunus confirmed that there was a reply letter from FIFA. However, he explained that only FIFA didn’t allow the concerts but for the 2022 AFF Cup it could be held at SU GBK.
“Yes, that’s right. Concerts are not allowed,” said Yunus, quoted by detikSport.
Meanwhile, according to the schedule, there are two concerts to be held at GBK, one of which is Raisa. The concert is scheduled for February 25, 2023.
K-Pop group BLACKPINK will also hold a concert at GBK for two days on March 11 and 12, 2023.
