Fifa 22 for PC will be based on the “old-gen” version (this year too)

Thus, the “Hypermotion” technique is lost.

Yesterday was unveiled Fifa 22. That it happened on the same night as the European Championship final between England and Italy was hardly a coincidence, and you can see the first trailer above. This year’s variant comes with “the groundbreaking Hypermotion technology which in pure Swedish means machine learning paired with 11v11-motion capture. According to the promise, this will improve how the players move during the matches.

Hypermotion creates new animations in real time to serve us realistic football. Potentially cool.

And certainly a PC disappointment. The technology will be available via PS5, Xbox Series and Stadia. Thus, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and, yes, PC lose Hypermotion. Refined PC players are perhaps not surprised then already last year Fifa 21 to pc built on “old gen”. However, the disappointment is palpable, and can be read on for example Reddit. EA’s excuse is that they want to keep the system requirements down.

When we looked at what generation to put the pc game on, we looked at our fans and what capabilities they had with the hardware they have.

That’s Aaron McHardy, executive producer, explains Eurogamer. EA wants to include everyone and thus chooses to exclude Hypermotion which could potentially be a boost Fifaseries.
