The team of week 16 is coming and the next tidbits for the community are ready. Is Messi finally getting his second Inform?
For some teams this week, due to some catching up games, a double burden was due. In England the league paused and the teams tested their skills in the FA Cup against opponents from other divisions.
You can find out which players emerged from this week’s games and are considered for the new team of the week in our prediction.
Top candidates for week 16
- Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona, Argentina) – 95
- Antoine Griezmann (FC Barcelona, France) – 89
- Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund, England) – 88
- Keylor Navas (Paris-Saint-Germain, Costa Rica) – 88
The lively offensive player of FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi, presented us with all his quality again this weekend. Coach Ronald Koeman’s team won 3-2 against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday. At the weekend a sovereign 4-0 win against Granada followed. Messi scored twice in both games. After his improved versions of Team of the Week 7 and the Team of the Group Stage, Messi could now get a new special card.
Messi’s team-mate Antoine Griezmann also showed a good performance in both games. The French scored one goal in the game against Bilbao and, like his strike partner Messi, scored twice in the 4-0 win against Granada. Since Barcelona played two league games this week, two players from the same team could get a special card. We definitely wouldn’t complain.
There was a top duel in the 1st Bundesliga this week. The Bayern pursuers Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig faced each other here. The black and yellow were able to control the game over long distances and decided the game with 3: 1 for themselves. The BVB defense was stable and Leipzig hardly had any scoring opportunities. Erling Haaland, Marco Reus and Jadon Sancho performed magic at Dortmund. All three showed a really strong performance and could be considered for the team of the week. Sancho scored a goal and prepared the 3-1 with a nice pass. Since he doesn’t have an Inform in FIFA 21 yet, he’s our favorite.
When Mauricio Pochettino made his coaching debut, Paris Saint-Germain couldn’t get past a 1-1 draw at St.Etienne. Offensively, the team showed little targetability and defensively the Costa Rican Keylor Navas secured. He saved four good chances of the opponents and got his team the point. In the second game against Stade Brest he appeared again sovereign and held the zero until the end. With little choice of goalkeepers this week, Navas may have a good chance.

The negative record could finally be broken at Schalke. The offensive division around Matthew Hoppe and Amine Harit had the largest share in the 4-0 victory over Hoffenheim. These alone provided all four hits for the Royal Blues. The returnee Sead Kolašinac also brought stability to the team and showed a strong performance.
FC Bayern Munich had to admit defeat in a match over the past three months. In the away game in Gladbach, the team of coach Hansi Flick lost 2: 3. The man of the evening was Jonas Hofmann, who tied a brace to 2-2 shortly before the break and prepared Florian Neuhaus for the third goal.
SC Freiburg set an exclamation mark in the 5-0 win against Cologne. Coach Christian Streich’s team dominated the game over long stretches and didn’t give 1. FC Köln a chance. Ermedin Demirović was the most noticeable man on the pitch with one goal and two assists and is a good candidate for Team of the Week.
