Started badly, Arsenal then get up and appear heroic to save one opponent’s point West Ham United. Coming behind 0-3, The Gunners imposes a final score of 3-3.
Come to London Stadium, Sunday (21/3/2021) evening WIB in continuation Premier League, Arsenal are already three goals behind in 32 minutes. Jesse Lingard, Jarod Bowen and Tomas Soucek’s goals hit Mikel Arteta’s squad.
But Soucek’s own goal in the 38th minute kept Arsenal up. The first half finishes with a score of 1-3.
Arsenal then increased the intensity in the second half and pressed West Ham. The result was a Craig Dawson own goal and an equalizer from Alexandre Lacazette.
Score 3-3 to be the end of this fight. With this result, West Ham United remain in fifth position with 49 points from 29 matches, while Arsenal are ninth with 42 points.
The course of the match
West Ham immediately urged Arsenal after starting football. Umpa Said Benrahma’s cross was struck by Vladimir Coufal but still bounced, when the game entered the fifth minute.
Another threat for Arsenal five minutes later. Tomas Soucek tried to finish Michail Antonio’s silane bait, but it was still narrowly wide.
West Ham claimed a penalty in the 14th minute, when Jarrod Bowen fell under pressure from Pablo Mari. But the referee and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) did not see it as a violation.
GOAL! West Ham took the lead a minute later. Antonio stabs from the left and sends in a draw, which Jesse Lingard receives and finishes with a volley into the right corner of the net.
2-0! The hosts increased the lead in just two minutes. Getting a free kick down the right in front of the penalty area, West Ham took it quickly as Arsenal’s players protested.
Lingard’s shot was received by Bowen who was free on the right and fired a shot horizontally. The ball shot straight at Bernd Leno, but the Arsenal keeper couldn’t stop it.
Arsenal tried to respond, but had trouble building the game. Martin Odegaard’s shot from the front of the penalty box hit West Ham players and was caught easily by Lukasz Fabianski.
GOAL! West Ham scored their third goal in the 32nd minute. Antonio’s Coufal head headed in front of goal, then Soucek cheated it for the goal. Arsenal’s players thought Soucek was offside, but the linesman and VAR made sure he was onside.
Arsenal! The visitors responded in the 38th minute. Odegaard plays a cross to Calum Chambers on the right, which he crosses.
The ball is controlled by Alexandre Lacazette in the middle of the penalty box, then the ball is finished with a rotating kick. The ball hit a West Ham defender before finally entering the goal. This goal was eventually recorded as Soucek’s own goal.
Two minutes away, Arsenal almost made the second goal. Lacazette’s breakthrough bait was received by Bukayo Saka, who only had to face the goalkeeper. But Fabianski can read his shot and be arrested.
Arsenal continued the pressure. Thomas Partey’s hard shot in the 43rd minute, which started from a corner, still shot over the goal.
Arsenal’s last attempt in the first half came from Saka, also starting from the corner. The shot is blocked by Craig Dawson. The first half ended.
Arsenal immediately kicked off in the second half. Chambers’ through ball was picked up by Lacazette behind the defensive line and he cheated past Fabianski. But Issa Diop swept the ball across the goal line and saved Arsenal’s chance to score.
Arsenal’s pressure paid off in the 61st minute. Odegaard finds Chambers on the right, who then sends a cross in front of goal. Dawson tries to cut the ball off of his way to Aubameyang, but instead sends him into the net himself!
West Ham responded in the 66th minute. Receiving the ball from Antonio, Bowen directs a shot at the open goal. But Kieran Tierney did the block at just the right moment.
Chance for West Ham in the 76th minute. Benrahma’s hard shot was cleared by Leno, but a wild ball still threatened Arsenal’s goal. Lingard gave chase, but quickly lost to Chambers.
The threat has not subsided for the visitors. Two minutes later Benrahma passed Partey, then found Antonio who cheated him on goal. But the ball just hit the post!
GOAL! Arsenal equalized in the 82nd minute. Nicolas Pepe sent a fine cross which was met by Lacazette’s header in front of goal.
Arsenal wasted the opportunity to reverse the position two minutes later. Pepe takes Odegaard’s cross in the box, but his shot is straight at Fabianski.
West Ham threatened back. Declan Rice took the solo run and led his team’s counterattack. Running from the middle of the field, he passed a number of Arsenal players and fired hard kicks that Leno could still punch.
Until the match was over, no more goals were scored.
