In the restaurant Nieuw Schaijk on the Rijksweg in Schaijk, a blazing fire raged in the night from Saturday to Sunday. The fire started around 2:30 am.
The fire brigade came with large equipment, and received assistance from corps from Nistelrode, Oss and Erp, but could not prevent the restaurant from burning out completely. Little is left of the property.
The highway was completely closed to traffic for some time. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
