Fierce Battles and Counterattacks: Russian Troops’ Assault on Ukrainian Army’s Defenses in Kupyansk-Liman and Bakhmut Districts

In the direction of Kupyansk-Liman, fierce battles are taking place in the Raihorodka and Kovalivka districts. Despite the losses, Russian troops are trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian army using assault units on armored vehicles, the commander said.

At the same time, the enemy is regrouping, bringing in new units from Russian territory in order to increase the numerical size and combat capabilities of its troops, Sirskis said.

Commenting on the situation in the direction of Bakhmut, the commander stated that fierce battles are taking place there every day.

The Russians are trying to regain lost positions there, launching counterattacks against Ukrainian soldiers several times a day.

Intensive combat activity is taking place in the districts of Bakhmut, Kurdjumivka, Jahidne and Andrijivka.

“We are implementing all measures to disrupt the opponent’s plans and are gradually moving forward. Therefore, special attention is paid to work in these directions,” added Sirskis.

Ukrainian defense forces have had success in the south in the directions of Novodanilivka-Novoprokopivka and Mala Tokmachka-Verbove, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army announced on Wednesday.
