The Fieldston neighborhood in the Bronx becomes the first in the county to make the list of the 50 most expensive places in the city.
According to the PropertyShark platform, Fieldston has been named the 41st most expensive neighborhood to buy a home.
The median sales price during the first quarter of this year was $840,000, 149% higher than the same period last year.
Economists attribute the rise in prices to the types of homes being sold.
More single-family homes were purchased in the first part of this year, unlike the first quarter of last year, which saw more co-op sales.
Another notable finding in the report is the Vinegar Hill neighborhood, which became the first in Brooklyn to earn a spot among the city’s three most expensive neighborhoods.
Median prices there were around $2.6 million.
Economists say that’s largely due to sales of a luxury building on Water Street.
