In the first phase of the research, smaller events were already looking at contact moments and visitor flows, among other things. These matters are now being further explored at larger events. The number of infections resulting from such a large Fieldlab event is not part of the second phase of the research, Boersma explains.

Visitors to the Eurovision Song Contest were also asked to have themselves tested within five days of the event. At other events, about 80 percent did. But we don’t get to hear numbers. This was the case after the first Fieldlab events, but according to Boersma, this also meant that all reporting was only about that and not about the rest of the research.
