In the middle of the Würfelwiese in Halle (Saale) there is a memorial that reminds of Hermann Fiebiger. He was the creator of many improvements to the urban promenade and in 1863 he co-founded the Halle Improvement Association – and was responsible, among other things, for the design of the paths on the Würfelwiese and the continuation to the Ziegelwiese.
But of all things the obelisk in his memory was littered on Saturday night. While the public order office on the Ziegelwiese was there to ensure that the rubbish ended up in the bins, one-way grills and leftover packaging were simply carelessly thrown into the area on the Würfelwiese.
Fiebiger was born in 1815. For years he was a city councilor, councilor and lawyer. With his pressure in 1871, Fiebiger also ensured that garlic Wednesday was banned by the police chief.
