FIDE responded to scandal in India

Zhansaya Abdumalik from Kazakhstan, who withdrew from the tournament, is not among the addressees of the letter, Tengri Sport reports with reference to the FIDE press service.

“I would like to offer our sincere apologies for the mishandling of the Women’s Grand Prix tournament in India. We deeply regret the problems and inconveniences you encountered, which led to the refusal of one of the chess players to participate in the tournament,” his letter says .

The president’s address notes that FIDE will appoint an additional coordinator who will be at the complete disposal of the participants and will provide compensation for any additional expenses they may incur.

Dvorkovich also promised to conduct a thorough review of the guidelines and standards for the organization of women’s tournaments and improve the skills of the organizers of future events.

Among the addressees of the letter, in particular, Bibisara Assaubayeva is indicated, who previously criticized Zhansaya Abdumalik for her decision to leave the tournament due to “selfishness”. In her response to the criticism, Zhansaya Abdumalik stated that it was time to “strike back”.
