FIDAPA Archive – Bologna Section – Cultural Heritage

Non-profit women’s association founded in Italy in 1930 and member of the IFBPW – International Federation of Business and Professional Women, since 1967 TRUST adopted as its logo the image of the winged Victory, symbol of the woman who, through her struggles, managed to obtain emancipation.
The Bologna section was born in 1981 and shares values, statute and regulations with the National Federation: the aim is to “promote, coordinate and support the initiatives of women who work in the field of arts, professions and business, independently or in collaboration with other bodies , associations and other entities […] without distinction of ethnicity, language, religion and political opinions”.

Over the years, FIDAPA Bologna has promoted conferences, conventions and activities ranging from art to science, paying particular attention to the issues of the female condition, violence, health, information and technology and establishing relationships with other bodies and associations . It has also established prizes, scholarships for young graduates and various recognitions.
In 2021, coinciding with the 40 years of activity, through a specific collaboration agreement with Orlando APS Associationhas deposited its archive at the Documentation, research and initiative center for women in the city of Bolognaidentified as an ideal place for storing cards. The Centre, managed by Orlando APS, has an agreement with the Emilia-Romagna Region pursuant to Regional Law 18/2000 and has been part of the participatory information system of historical archives in Emilia-Romagna for several years.

L’FIDAPA archive Bologna (95 files packaged in 15 envelopes) reflects the life of the association, testifying to its functioning and the activities promoted: statutes, minutes of meetings, correspondence with members and correspondence certifying collaborations with other bodies and institutions, papers of various kinds are preserved relating to the organization of meetings and events, as well as photographic and printed material.
The reorganization and inventorying of the papers, carried out using the regional archival description platform with the scientific consultancy of the Region’s Cultural Heritage Sector, was promoted by the Documentation Center and the Orlando Association.
