During the 2009 edition of the Cannes Film Festival, a French film presented in the official competition stirred up all the rumours: will it win the prize for male interpretation, that of the best director or the best screenplay? Nothing of the sort. Of her ten nominations for the 2010 Césars, only that of best actress in a supporting role goes to Emmanuelle Devos. However, its main interpreter, François Cluzet, could have won the best actor award, both the performance he delivers in Originally directed by Xavier Giannoli, is amazing. All the more surprising that the character he embodies, a mythomaniac crook who will temporarily bring life to a desolate village in the north of France, is indeed real. Just like the case of which he is the hero. The reality is at least as disturbing as the fiction, twilight, superbly staged in an exaltation of fraternity: a man who fights against adversity and the elements, the rain, the mud, but with and for others. As in real life, the character masterfully portrayed by François Cluzet finds his truth in lies.
