FIBA extended the suspension of Russian teams from competitions – Sport Mail.ru

The Executive Committee of the International Basketball Federation has extended the suspension of Russian and Belarusian national teams and clubs from competitions under the auspices of the organization, the press service reports FIBA.

The meeting of the FIBA ​​Executive Committee was held at the organization’s headquarters in Switzerland. It also discussed issues related to qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Games, the holding of the Women’s World Championship in 2026, and more.

It is noted that the suspension will remain until the next meeting of the FIBA ​​central council.

On March 1, 2022, FIBA ​​suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization due to the situation in Ukraine. The Euroleague made the same decision.
