The name Topolino Fiat has not been used for more than 60 years, but in 2023 it should return together with a small electric car destined for the city. However, Fiat has not developed the car from the very beginning. It will use a shared platform and basics from Citroën Ami, which is already sold in Europe.

Automotive News rushed to this information, stating that Fiat had already built the first prototype, which it had even introduced to dealers. According to one of them, the car really stands on the foundations of Citroën, but allegedly offers a more refined solution and appearance.

The Citroën Ami is only 2.41 meters long, will carry two passengers and is powered by an 8-horsepower electric motor. The top speed is set at 45 kilometers per hour and the batteries give it a range of up to 75 kilometers. In addition, in some European countries, the car is classified as an ATV, so it can be driven from the age of 15.

Fiat is expected to introduce the car in 2023 with the same technical specifications as Citroën. The difference could be in the cabin, where Fiat has to offer more luxury. Topolino should then be produced in a Moroccan factory in Kenitra.

A related Opel with a Rocks has already introduced its version on the same topic.
