In an ever-evolving global mobility market, there are those who dream of a better future and others who take concrete steps towards a more sustainable and responsible tomorrow. FIAT has demonstrated that the future has already arrived by unveiling the new concept family inspired by the Panda. The first new product will be revealed next July followed by the launch of one new model per year until 2027. The new model series is designed to conquer roads around the world and complement the brand’s range. Thanks to Stellantis, FIAT has access to a new global platform, on which FIAT has added its Italian creativity: a recipe that combines beauty and simple solutions.

Olivier Francois, CEO of FIAT and Marketing Director of Stellantis in a video(link) – shot in Geneva – a hamlet of the municipality of Castenedolo in the province of Brescia which has the same name as the Swiss city where the Auto Show is held – while driving a Panda he announced the new global challenge: Panda, the model that gives over forty years it has changed the way of experiencing the car, a symbol of Italian creativity, and has inspired the new family of concepts.

Olivier Francois said: “FIAT is a global brand, 1.3 million cars sold last year and a solid leadership in many parts of the world. The next step in global competition is the transition from local products to a global offering that will benefit all our customers everywhere. We’re excited to share a preview of our future; a very near future in reality, in fact the first car will be presented in 4 months during the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the brand. This car will then be followed by a new model every year“.

The new cars will share the same philosophy – functionality cannot exist without fun – and the same technology – a single global platform on which it will be possible to produce any new model chosen based on its local relevance. The new models can be created anywhere and produced in every part of the world, reaching every customer on the planet. The unique, multi-energy platform will allow future FIAT models to be equipped with electric, hybrid and ICE engines. Furthermore, the new family will be characterized by the efficient use of space and sustainable materials. Each of the new models will be a unique and original interpretation of the inclusive, accessible and ingenious spirit that has allowed the brand to create vehicles with extremely modular interiors, unique looks and bold personalities.

FIAT is tackling the challenge of producing increasingly sustainable and accessible cars using its “less is more” approach, eliminating redundant parts and reducing polluting materials such as chrome, alloys, leather and foams in seats. Furthermore, more attention to aerodynamic performance, as in the Fastback concept, and to “modularity” thanks to FIAT’s Italian ingenuity. Facilitated by the transversal platform and the sharing of common parts up to 80% depending on the models, as for the interior, production is more efficient and provides greater benefits for customers: cost-effectiveness and a strong model personality.

City Car

The first concept that appears in the video is the City Car. Larger than the current Panda, a sort of “Mega Panda”, whose design was also inspired by the birthplace of the brand – the iconic Lingotto building in Turin with its famous test track on the roof. FIAT designers were inspired by some peculiar characteristics of the Lingotto to create the new stylistic language: structural lightness, optimization of space and brightness. For example, the oval shape of “La Pista 500” is echoed in the interior: from the dashboard to the screen and the seats.
Furthermore, FIAT is attentive to the use of sustainable materials such as recycled plastics and bamboo fabrics and aims to remove some barriers to more sustainable mobility, including for example making the use of the charging cable simple thanks to a “self-retracting system” . The raised driving position and the design that inspires solidity make this city car perfect for customers all over the world, in urban traffic and at the same time, thanks to its space and versatility, also for family trips and holidays.

Pick-Up

The pickup is the second concept that appears in the video. FIAT is the leader in South America where the Strada pick-up is the best-selling vehicle in the Brazilian market. In the future, this type of vehicle will be able to replicate this success globally, including in Europe. The new concept adds fun to functionality and responds to the needs of customers who have rediscovered the value of free time. This concept combines the features of the pick-up with the functionality of an LCV and the comfort of an SUV, all with dimensions suitable for cities around the world. Outdoor activities are much more than a hobby for our customers, a lifestyle, and this pick-up is designed to best meet their needs.

Fastback

Heir to two of the Brand’s greatest successes – the Fiat Fastback in Brazil and the Fiat Tipo in the Middle East and Africa – this fastback aims to follow in their footsteps and establish itself globally in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, and even in Europe . This concept car is built on the same modular platform and features a sporty design. The Fastback demonstrates that FIAT can further improve its commitment to sustainable mobility, but without sacrificing performance: in fact, thanks to the dynamism of the silhouette and the aerodynamic qualities, consumption can be lowered and a more modern and youthful style compared to many SUVs.

SUV

The fourth concept in the video is a spacious family SUV, a sort of “Giga-Panda”. In line with FIAT’s role as a leader in accessible, innovative and sustainable mobility, the vehicle is further confirmation of the particular attention that the brand reserves for the transport needs of families.
The concept meets the demands of the most demanding customers in terms of safety, versatility and design, offering spaciousness and robustness to families all over the world.

Camper

The latest concept is the “all-rounder” par excellence, a sort of manifesto of a Dolce Vita style because thanks to its characteristics it aims to reconnect people with each other and with nature. This concept pays homage to the “Fun-ctionality” of the Panda of the 80s, recalling the versatility of a car made for the city with the characteristics of an SUV and the soul of a trusted companion.
