The FIA has confirmed that all teams are in favor of increasing the number of sprint races to six from 2023. In 2022 there are still three sprint races, but that seems to be about to change.
The FIA has not yet decided whether there will actually be six sprint races in 2023 and will first evaluate whether this is a realistic and achievable goal for all people involved. Only when this is certain will the decision be made and Formula 1 will start six sprint races from 2023. This will then be done with the same format as that of 2021 and 2022.

Statement FIA
The FIA says the following about the meeting in London. “With the first of three Sprint events of the 2022 season, which proved popular with fans and stakeholders at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix last weekend, Formula 1 and the teams have favored an expansion to six Sprint events for the 2023 season, with the same format as in 2022. The FIA supports the principle of an increased number of Sprint events, but is still evaluating the impact of this proposal on its track operations and staff, and will provide its feedback to the Commission.”
Other decisions
Other decisions were also made. For example, every driver by 2023 must have a helmet cam. The camera delivered spectacular images this year and last year. Among other things, it gave a good picture of porpoising, which is again dominant this year. The number of dry tires during a race weekend will also go from 13 to 11 from 2023.
