The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) destroyed 25 vehicles with homemade armor in Tamaulipas, which allegedly belonged to the Northeast Cartel and the Gulf Cartel.
In a statement on Sunday, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in the State of Tamaulipas reported that it complied with the Program for the Destination of Property and Objects of Crime, provided for in the National Code of Criminal Procedure, which provides for the destruction of objects that are instruments of crime.
“The act of destruction was carried out at the facilities of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office located in Reynosa, in the same state, related to 18 files. 25 vehicles with homemade armor were destroyed, which were seized in various confrontations in Tamaulipas and which are called ‘monsters’, presumably used by people belonging to criminal groups,” it says.
The vehicles were destroyed in the presence of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF), who coordinated the identification action and carried out the corresponding procedures.
Official expert personnel and staff from the FGR’s Internal Control Body verified that the procedure was carried out in accordance with the terms of the applicable regulations.
In addition, coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) and the State Guard was highlighted, who secured and made available these vehicles.
