KOMPAS. com – President of the French Football Federation (FFF) Noël Le Graet he resigned from his post on Wednesday (1/11/2023) local time.

The French Football Federation announced that the decision was agreed by Noel Le Graet together with the FFF Executive Committee.

“Noel Le Graet in agreement with the Executive Committee of the FFF in a meeting today (Wednesday) in Paris has chosen to resign from his duties as president of the federation until the completion of an audit carried out by the Ministry of Sport and pending its analysis by the Comex (executive committee) of the FFF,” the Football Association said in a statement. The young star of the French national team, Kylian Mbappe, immediately reacted strongly. He criticized Noel Le Graet’s statement which was considered disrespectful to Zinedine Zidane.

“Zidane is French, you shouldn’t show such disrespect,” Mbappe wrote on his personal Twitter.

Real Madrid, which is Zidane’s former club, also criticized Noel. Real Madrid considered Noel’s statement highly inappropriate because Zidane had made France famous.

After receiving criticism from various quarters, Noel Le Grate has finally apologized and admitted that he never intended to insult Zidane.

“I want to apologize for that statement. My statement in no way reflects my view of Zidane as a player and as a coach now,” Le Graet said. RMC Sports.
