Dávid Hancko faces one of the biggest games of his career. The Feyenoord defender has brought his family over for the quarterfinals of the Europa League against AS Roma in De Kuip.
At the press moment towards the quarterfinals, Hancko is asked if the duel with Roma is the biggest of his career. “Yes, I think so. My parents are here and we’ve talked about it. But I’ve already played some big games here. I’m looking forward to it. I think we’re in good shape.”
According to the Slovak, Feyenoord is having a unique season. “I feel that through the people and our amazing fans,” he says. “If you told me we would be in this position in April when I came here I don’t know if I would believe you. I try to enjoy it too because I don’t think this is going to happen every year in my career .”
Pissed-off
Last weekend against RKC Waalwijk (5-1), Hancko only received his first yellow card in an Eredivisie context. “I was then pissed-off“, says the defender. “I’m not often in large spaces to make fouls. That also depends on the team and the coaches. That’s great class.”
