Maurice Steijn is very impressed with Feyenoord’s performance this season. Sparta’s fellow townsman is convincingly at the top, but during Sunday’s city derby, the coach sees opportunities at the Castle.
Steijn thinks it’s amazing what the Slot team is doing at Feyenoord. “All praise to the Feyenoord team,” the Sparta coach says in conversation with ESPN. “Arne Slot is important, but in the end they do it together. It is very nice to see how he is doing there. It is a very good whole and you see how convincingly they win. Also how they are in the Johan Cruijff arena playing.”
Yet Steijn also issues a warning to the club he respects so much. “Of course it will be a difficult game, but we also have our weapons. We made it very difficult for everyone throughout the competition and we will try that again on Sunday.”
