FC Groningen and Fortuna Sittard have indeed reached an agreement about Mark Diemers. Fortuna Sittard director Ivo Pfennings confirms this to 1Limburg.
There was already an oral agreement, but due to the interest of Feyenoord, Groningen and Fortuna Sittard quickly ironed out the final folds. “We reached an agreement on that last night,” said Pfennings. This does not end the transfer soap: Diemers has yet to reach an agreement with FC Groningen and can therefore still opt for Feyenoord if the Rotterdammers officially report. Until now, Feyenoord has only approached Diemers management.
The midfielder receives part of the transfer fee. Fortuna does not want to say how high that amount is. The club does state that it is satisfied with the transfer fee that has been agreed with FC Groningen. “Certainly with today’s science. We are happy with the deal,” said Pfennings.
