Feyenoord director Arnesen is laying down work for the time being for health reasons NOW

Technical director Frank Arnesen is temporarily retiring from his activities at Feyenoord. The 65-year-old Dane is temporarily stopping for health reasons.

Arnesen contracted an infection to his knee more than a month ago. He seemed to recover well, but suffered a setback.

In consultation with the club management of Feyenoord, it was decided on Thursday that Arnesen will focus fully on his recovery in the coming months. The Rotterdam club will cover his absence internally for the time being.

“Frank’s physical condition does not allow him to carry out the demanding tasks that come with the position of technical director with full dedication, especially at the moment”, says general manager Dennis te Kloese on the website from Feyenoord.

“It is now essential for him to get his rest so that he can fully focus on his recovery. Frank’s health is the most important thing. We therefore hope that he is back to normal as soon as possible.”

“In the coming period, we will continue on the path we have already taken in terms of football technology,” says Te Kloese. “Over the past year and a half, Frank has laid a solid foundation with the help of the scouting team on which we can and want to build further. They will continue to support the management in the coming period. Partly because of this, we are confident that we can cope with Frank’s absence for the time being. catch.”

Arnesen has been technical director at Feyenoord since the beginning of 2020. Earlier this year, he extended his contract until next summer.
