Feyenoord comes with contract news and formally cancels five player contracts

Feyenoord has decided to formally terminate five expiring player contracts. The commitments of Eric Botteghin, Ramón ten Hove, Sven van Beek, George Johnston in Bart Nieuwkoop will not be extended for the time being.

The Rotterdammers announce on their website that this does not necessarily mean that the five will also definitely leave De Kuip. Before April 1, the club must let you know whether expiring contracts will be extended or formally canceled. If necessary, these commitments can be extended at a later date.

The contracts of Botteghin, Ten Hove and Van Beek expire next summer and do not include an option to extend. According to the CAO regulations, a club must notify before 1 April whether it will extend those contracts and Feyenoord has now indicated that it will not do so in the case of these three. George Johnston and Bart Nieuwkoop, who had contracts with an option from the club, are also not getting a new contract for the time being.

Nevertheless, the club says that this does not mean ‘the end of the cooperation’. At a later time, the Rotterdammers will talk to one or more players about a new contract for the coming season. That can be read in it statement on the website of the Stadionclub.
