Should Dennis te Kloese get started as general manager of Feyenoord, then the people of Rotterdam gain a wealth of knowledge about the American and Mexican football market. The ‘general manager’ of LA Galaxy looks good, emphasizes ESPN reporter Sebastian Salazar.
“He is highly regarded in both Mexico and the United States. He is an absolute expert in one of the most important groups on this continent: young Mexican-American players,” Salazar tells the Dutch branch of ESPN. “If you want a player from that group, Dennis te Kloese is the man.”
According to Salazar, Te Kloese has an excellent reputation in the MLS, but his time at Los Angeles Galaxy does not quite live up to expectations. “They haven’t won anything since his arrival. The club is used to taking trophies and they spend most of the salary of the entire MLS. But the important thing is that he doesn’t have complete power at the club, when he should be. At LA Galaxy there is a president above him and he still determines a lot.”
It seems that Te Kloese will leave as soon as his contract is up. The Telegraph reported that the driver is well on his way to Feyenoord, but there are hijackers on the coast. “Beyond his exceptional knowledge of the American and Mexican markets, he is great with the media. There are many parties interested in the MLS. I understand there is interest in him there, but here teams are lining up for him. I see leave him to FC Cincinnati in no time.”
Salazar sees a great advantage of working in America. “You are not on the front page of the newspaper when something goes wrong, the supporters don’t know where you live if it goes wrong. So safety could be a good reason for Dennis te Kloese to stay in America.”
