There are still 340 Covid-19 patients in hospitals (-28 percent), of whom 147 are in intensive care (-29 percent). This is apparent from the preliminary corona figures on the Sciensano dashboard. It had been the end of September when fewer than 150 patients needed intensive care.

The number of new infections and deaths also continues to fall. Between June 19 and 25, an average of 331 people became infected with the coronavirus every day, a drop of 27 percent compared to a week earlier. The positivity ratio is still 1.1 percent (-0.5 percent).

The R-value drops by 6 percent, to 0.74. As long as that value is below 1, that means that the pandemic is weakening. A total of 1,083,478 people in our country have already been infected with the virus.

In the week from 19 to 25 June, an average of 4.4 people died every day from the consequences of a corona infection (-28 percent). That brings the total number of deaths to 25,168.

6,955,613 million compatriots have already received a first shot of a corona vaccine. That is 75 percent of adults or 60.4 percent of the total population. 3,850,312 people have already been fully vaccinated: 41.7 percent of the over 18s or 33.4 percent of all residents.
