On Wednesday 14 September and Thursday 15 September 2022, doctors and nurses from the French Blood Center took turns at the Châteaulin Town Hall to make sure the samples were taken. “On Wednesday there were 87 people out of the 110 planned. Until 1pm on Thursday, we were a bit underwhelmed compared to our arrival in June. September is traditionally less crowded. In Brittany 600 donations are needed a day to cover all the needs of the region ”, informs Anaëlle Montfort, doctor in charge of the collection.
A session in December
Five volunteers took care of organizing and managing snacks for the donors. They recall that at least 167 donations were requested by the French Blood Center in the two days.
“On Thursday mornings we have fewer and fewer people because parking is not possible due to the market”, they underline.
