Due to track work, less train traffic than usual will be possible around Haarlem from Thursday for six days. The NS reports this on Monday.
There will be no trains at all between Haarlem and Leiden until 31 January. In addition, there will be no trains to Santpoort Noord and Zandvoort during the weekend. Finally, no trains will run between Haarlem and Amsterdam Sloterdijk on Sunday, but the NS will use trains to transport passengers.
Due to the work around Haarlem, fewer trains run between Leiden Central and The Hague Central. Travelers who do not come from Haarlem and still want to go to The Hague can, according to the NS, detour via Schiphol and at the weekend via Gouda. The extra travel time is up to half an hour longer than usual.
The NS advises travelers not to wait on Saturday evening for the last buses on the diversion routes. “Large crowds are expected at the buses, so there is a chance of stragglers,” warns the train operator.
ProRail will renew contact wires and a viaduct suspension during the work. Unnecessary bills are removed. If all goes well, trains will run as usual on Wednesday 1 February.
