. The draft of the new local bus transport plan is causing a stir in the region. For passengers in Bad Krozingen, the largest city in the district with a connection to the Münstertalbahn, there could be a risk that connections to the surrounding area will be made via a new center in Heitersheim in the future. The district connections are also deteriorating. The municipalities can share their wishes and concerns by the end of March. In any case, the planned expansion of the Bad Krozingen bus station was deleted from the municipal budget.
Where the journey will go is still open. But it is clear how to get around: by bus and the train that is connected to it. At least that’s how the Regional Transport Association Freiburg (ZRF) imagines it, which organizes local public transport for the districts of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, Emmendingen and the urban district of Freiburg. “It is our goal to make public transport so attractive that as many people as possible leave their cars behind,” says ZRF Managing Director Thomas Wisser. The fact that this goal is a long way off is shown by the numerous complaints that were recently heard from the municipalities in the region.
