Fewer and fewer corona patients in intensive care units – Berlin.de

In the corona pandemic, the situation in the intensive care units of Berlin hospitals continues to ease.

4.8 percent of the intensive care beds are still occupied by Covid 19 patients, as the Senate announced on Monday. The traffic light in the country’s warning system turned green on Sunday for the first time since the summer. During the delta wave in December, people with a corona infection were still in up to 25 percent of the intensive care beds.

Over a million infections since the pandemic began

At the weekend, the number of officially registered infections in Berlin had exceeded one million since the beginning of the pandemic. 36 more infections were reported by Monday, the total number is now 1,000,246. Experts assume that many cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are often not followed by a PCR test. According to the registered data, 503.2 out of 100,000 Berliners were infected in the past seven days; that was a good 100 more than a week ago. Nationwide, the seven-day incidence on Monday was 639.5.
