The police have found the remains of a fetus in the Heidestein nature reserve in Zeist. It concerns an immature child of less than 24 weeks, who probably wanted to bury someone, say the police.
The report of the find came around 11:30 am, after which the police deployed a helicopter and detection dogs. In the meantime, there does not seem to be a criminal offense and so the investigation has been stopped.
The police still call on witnesses to report. “We hope that the parents or those involved will report, so that a good goodbye can still be said.”
