Fetching Sick Parents to Jember, One Family from Ponorogo Exposed to Corona

PONOROGO, KOMPAS.com -One family from Sukorejo District, Regency Ponorogo, East Java was reported to be positive covid-19, Sunday (8/11/2020).

“Before being exposed to the corona, the family of three people had a history of picking up their sick parents in Jember,” said Ponorogo Regent Task Force Soedjarno to Kompas.com, Sunday (11/8/2020).

Soedjarno said that the three people who were in the same family had a travel history from Jember at the end of last month. They picked up sick and elderly parents to be treated in Ponorogo.

After picking up their parents, said Soedjarno, the three of them experienced symptoms of fever, cough and runny nose.

Sick parents are also exposed to corona

Worried that something would happen to his health condition, the family took the initiative to carry out an examination rapid test at the Sukorejo Health Center. “The results are all reactive,” said Soedjarno.

Due to the rapid reactive test results, the three people took swabs.

The results of the PCR examination, all three were confirmed to be positive Covid-19. Not only that, parents who are sick are also exposed to corona.

In addition there is one additional positive case of Covid-19 from the Bungkal District area.

Before being exposed to the corona, the resident had close contact with a patient who died with a positive condition for Covid-19 from Pacitan.

Residents are asked not to hesitate

As of Sunday (8/11/2020) the number of positive cases of Covid-19 in Ponorogo Regency has reached 542 people. Of that number 517 recovered, 18 people died and seven people were isolated.

Regarding this fact, Soedjarno asked residents not to be careless and remain vigilant considering that the Covid-19 transmission was still happening.

For this reason, residents are asked to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols.

“We must be optimistic and believe that Ponorogo is capable of handling and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic,” concluded Soedjarno.
