This Saturday, November 11, in the “Lielais dzintars” concert hall, three dozen creative collectives of Liepāja will gather for the festive concert “Saules pielijusi”, so that after the song and dance festival held in the summer, they will continue to be together and feel together in the autumn month of the State holiday in November, the portal informed Tautas arts and culture center public relations and marketing project manager Iveta Štelmaher.
The concert starts at 3 p.m., but the audience is invited to come from 2:30 p.m. to the musical background of the concert – a brass band will welcome visitors in the exhibition gallery on the 1st floor, the “Life and Holidays” exhibition of the People’s Photo Studio “Fotast” will be on display on the 2nd floor, while in the Great Hall there will be a theater -musical performances will create a festive mood by folklore ensembles and theaters.
The leitmotif of the concert is a small dust of light, which through song and tradition develops and grows bigger and bigger, turning into an all-encompassing light of the Sun, which, just like a person, connects with its roots through traditions, creating a connection between past, present and future generations.
Folk dance ensembles, choirs, folklore ensembles, brass bands, vocal ensembles and amateur theaters will take part in the wonderful concert of being together and feeling together. In total, there will be almost 800 participants of the Song and Dance Festival from Liepāja. The director of the concert is Juris Jonelis, the artistic directors are Ilze Valce and Jānis Purviņš, the author of the lyrics and the director of the concert – Orests Silabriedis. The sound of the concert will be enhanced by soloists Andris Ērglis (voice), Laura Bluķe (voice), Solveiga Kūlaine (voice), Juris Lipsnis (bagpipes), concert master Normunds Kalniņš. The visual design is provided by video projection author Andris Vētra and lighting artist Mārtiņš Feldmanis. The event is organized by the Liepāja Folk Art and Culture Center.
The concert is a gift to Liepāja residents and guests of the city on the National Day, but due to the limited number of places, the entrance to it is by invitations, which were available at the “Biļešu paradīze” box office. As Baiba Kļava, the director of the Liepāja Folk Art and Culture Center, admits, all the invitations were removed on the first day, as soon as they arrived at the ticket offices, so the concert will be recorded and will be available for free to all interested parties on YouTube, starting from November 18: “Premier in the virtual in the environment, we are planning for the birthday of the country of Latvia, and the recording of the concert will be available for viewing for an unlimited time. Happy holidays and may it be nice to be together and feel together both on holidays and everyday, creatively living and working, in our beautiful land – Latvia!”
