The Paradise City and Horst festivals will continue for the time being. Pukkelpop announced on Friday that the 2021 edition will be definitively canceled due to the tightened test measures on Monday.

‘We are very sorry for our industry that Pukkelpop had to cancel today’, writes the organization of Paradise City on the website. “Our smaller size of an average of 8,000 visitors per day allows us to comply with the new updated strict government regulations.” The festival is setting up a self-test zone at the entrance, where festival-goers can have an antigen test taken. Anyone who comes to the festival for several days must have a PCR test done in advance.
Pukkelpop throws in the towel: no 2021 edition
Horst festival also sees no need to cancel in the new measures. “Given the smaller capacity and the favorable date, we will see Horst continue this year,” organizer Jochem Daelman told Bruzz. He hopes to get free antigen tests through the government to test visitors with.
Paradise City attracts approximately 8,000 visitors per edition, spread over three days, from 13 and 14 August in Perk. Horst attracts a similar number of people and falls later in the year, from September 10 to 12. Horst’s organization hopes that by then the vaccination rate will be so high that not much testing needs to be done during the festival.
The Covid Safe Ticket (CST) killed Pukkelpop on Friday. A CST is an entry form to attend an event without a mouth mask and distance rules. To get such a ticket you must be fully vaccinated, or be able to show a negative PCR test of up to 48 hours old or a rapid test of up to 24 hours. The Pukkelpop organization announced that
