Dresden (dpa/sn) – The 12th Dresden Castle Night attracted 6,000 visitors to the Elbhang on Saturday evening. After two years of silence, 250 artists transformed the parks of Albrechtsberg Castle, Lingner Castle, Eckberg Castle and Saloppe Castle into a huge open-air cultural landscape, as the organizers announced on Sunday. The event has also established itself as a tourist magnet, with more than 30 percent of the guests arriving from outside.
“The great feedback from our guests made me realize again that the Dresden Castles Night is really something very special,” said organizer Mirco Meinel. Where else are there three castles that combine in one night to form an open-air event? Special highlights were the fireworks accompanied by music and the projection on the facade of Albrechtsberg Castle, which commented on current world events to some extent with motifs such as a sinking globe or a dove of peace.
