Festival of Three (Triju Festival) USA: Bringing Singers Together Through Music and Art

Festival of Three (Triju Festival) USA was established in 2019 by Kevin Meidl, and its main goal is to bring singers from different countries together through music and art, singing their own repertoire together, as well as agreeing on the performance of a new work.

This time the Estonian composer Perts Üsbergs has been chosen as the author of the new work of the festival, whose composition Full to the brim (Full to the brim) will experience its first performance at the Riga concert. Along with the new work, the music of Erik Eschenwald, Joseph Martin, Felix Mendelssohn, Arvo Pert, Robert Ray, Timothy Snyder, Vilnius Shmīdberg, Pēteras Vaska, and other composers will be heard.

The concert features:

  • Youth Choir VoicesInts Teterovskis, Kamila Siliņa and Georg Zujevs
  • Men’s choir Singers Club of Cleveland (Ohaio), Dons Verkuilens
  • bell ensemble Spirit Bells (Wisconsin), Billy Brandt
  • soloist Mija Barber (Mya Barber) (Florida)
  • Principal Conductor Eric Johnson.

In 2022, the festival was held in Sweden, Estonia and Latvia. The USA was represented by three bright university choirs – Brigham Young University Men’s Choir, Iowa State University’s Mixed Choir and Texas Women’s University Women’s Choir. Latvia was represented by the mixed choir of the Latvian Academy of Culture salt, who together played a new work by Eric Aschenwald Naming the Rain.

US musicians will still perform at the 2023 festival concerts on June 19 at 18.00 in Helsinki, Temppeliaukio church and on June 22 at 19.00 Sun. Karl’s Church in Tallinn.
