Landjuweel on Ruigoord is canceled this year. Today the cabinet decided that one-day events may be organised, but with strict restrictions, such as a maximum of 750 visitors. The organization is thinking about an alternative on the day of the festival.

Festival Landjuweel initially wanted to welcome 4000 visitors for three days. Plus another 1000 employees. Marco de Goede van Ruigoord is in the organization of the festival and is disappointed with the maximum of 750.
“This is very unworkable for Amsterdam. This effectively means that festivals cannot go on. Whether it is Loveland, Landjuweel or Georgie’s: you all have the same problem, because you incur a lot of costs and then you need many visitors. If you have few visitors, you will certainly lose.”
Who comes?
Landjuweel has been working on the organization for months and now sees many plans falling apart. “It’s very disappointing that everything we came up with at Landjuweel can’t go on. Only 20 percent of the visitors can come. But who do we let come? Moreover: can you also do that financially? Your fixed costs will not decrease with fewer visitors .”
Alternative
Festivals may only take place if the visitors have a test certificate or are vaccinated. The events may only take place outdoors or under a tarpaulin. There may still be something happening on August 20. De Goede: “The good news, something is going to happen on August 20. We don’t know exactly what, but we are thinking about an alternative.
Money Back
According to Ruigoord, the original thousands of visitors can get the money from their ticket back.
